I live in beautiful Seattle, Washington, with my husband and our two cats.I got my first camera for Christmas when I was about 8. It was tiny, used 110 film, and came with an "introduction to photography" manual written for kids. It kept me busy - as I kept my parents' pocketbook busy, eating up film on anything I could think to photograph. Not long after, I saved every penny I earned darning socks (badly, I might add!) and washing cars to buy my first 35mm camera - a hot pink point & shoot with a flash. Still, I photographed everything: the cats, the trees, the cats in the trees... You get the idea.
Today, I'm still madly in love with this art, and my equipment has come a long way from that hot-pink point & shoot. Now, my own wallet suffers in a new way, with the interest in the gadgets and accessories. But that's not important.
What's important - what keeps me going - are
memories. I want to capture my own special memories on film, to preserve for posterity, to look back on and remember fondly, and to keep the details as brilliant in my mind as if they'd just happened yesterday. Life changes so quickly and we're all so busy.
Photography is how I slow down time.
